Radiohead’s Ed O’Brien knows nothing about the internets
Really respect his music, not so much his opinion on file sharing. Saying that throttling is the answer to piracy is uninformed, implying that losing the ability to track users is a problem just a little creepy.
I think that before we can start talking about changing the way the internet works so musicians don’t lose out on revenues let’s try to make a couple of things happen: kill DRM so legal downloads are an equal product to illegal ones, help and keep promoting things like Spotify or Zune Pass and remove geographical restrictions so the whole planet can enjoy the same product at the same time.
Ed, stop listening to Lilly Allen.

New Sideshow Reel is Live!
Our new reel is wrapped, we may add something fancier to the opening frame but it’s pretty much done. Looking forward to your comments.

“I have not come this far to die now” L4D2 trailer packs a punch
Loved the first Left 4 Dead, this looks like more of the same with added bad-ass. Bring it on.

Tauntaun wedding cake makes geeks hungry/nauseous
This groom’s cake for Star Wars artist Chris Trevas mimics the iconic scene from The Empire Strikes Back including freezing Luke and life-saving guts. Han Solo: “And I thought they smelled bad…on the outside.” Maybe, but it sure is delicious. Love it.

42 Essential 3rd Act Twists
Loving this, by the wonderful (and multi-styled) Dresden Codak. “Reverse robot reveal” is probably my favourite. I want this, poster-sized.

Mick Jagger’s brief to Andy Warhol
Pretty sure every single designer on the planet would kill to receive a brief like that. “Here’s everything, we trust you. How much money do you need?” Do love the way Mick Jagger comes across.
